Foreign tourists visiting Thailand have surpassed 11 million, with Chinese tourists leading the way at over 2 million. This success is evident in the Food & Hospitality Thailand event, which is gaining significant attention. Recently, two major Chinese trade shows have expressed interest in co-hosting, and this year’s event will be upgraded to Thai Tourism & Hospitality Week.

Miss Supaporn Aungsrisuraporn, the Senior Event Manager at Informa Markets Thailand, the organizer of Food & Hospitality Thailand (FHT), provided an update on this year’s event preparations. She noted that positive tourism trends have continued since early 2024, with the number of foreign tourists now exceeding 11.29 million. Chinese tourists remain the largest group, totaling 1,920,039, not including an additional 395,830 Chinese tourists who visited during the Songkran festival. The annual target of 35 million tourists set by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is expected to be achieved. Additionally, tourism is supported by government policies aimed at attracting global tourists through hosting international seminars and conferences, increasing international flight routes to Thailand, and declaring 2025 as the "Golden Year of Tourism." This initiative aims to sustain tourism momentum by organizing major global events and showcasing Thai art, culture, food, fashion, and more to the world.

Therefore, Informa Markets Thailand has collaborated with partners to expand the scope of the Food & Hospitality Thailand event, elevating it to Thai Tourism & Hospitality Week. This initiative represents a significant effort by the private sector to invigorate and continuously develop Thailand’s tourism industry. Communicating these plans to tourism businesses both domestically and internationally has generated substantial interest in this year’s event. The latest positive news is that two major Chinese trade shows, Hotel & Shop Plus and Hotelex, have expressed interest in participating.

Hotel & Shop Plus Thailand will be a leading trade show for hotels, restaurants, retail stores, and commercial spaces, featuring top suppliers offering products ranging from exterior and interior design to smart hotel systems, decorations, and lighting. This marks the second year of its collaboration in organizing the event. Meanwhile, Hotelex Thailand will showcase solutions for the hotel and catering industries, including banquet equipment and tableware. This will be Hotelex Thailand's first time co-organizing an event in the country.

Thus, Thai Tourism & Hospitality Week becomes a significant and all-encompassing event, merging the highlights of all three shows. This evolution aims to centralize networking and explore emerging trends in the food and hospitality industries, ensuring robust and enduring growth in Thailand’s tourism sector. Furthermore, it aims to position Thailand as a top destination for hosting hospitality and tourism business events in the region.

At Food & Hospitality Thailand 2024, the exhibition space is organized into 8 zones: Food & Drinks, Café & Bakery, Hospitality Style, Hospitality Technology, Foodservice Equipment, Sips & Spirits, Shop & Retail, and Cleaning Supplies & Equipment. There will also be competitions and seminars for industry professionals to stay updated on new trends and knowledge to enhance their businesses.

Food & Hospitality Thailand 2024 is the ultimate exhibition for the hotel, restaurant, and hospitality industries in the region. The event will be held from 21-24 August 2024, at Halls 1-4, G Floor, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
